Field trip to Thanksgiving Point

Thanks to everyone who came to our field trip at Thanksgiving Point! We had a blast meeting everyone and enjoyed watching you get to know each other!

We had fun exploring the Dinosaur Museum and Farm Country, and enjoyed some delicious treats afterward at the cafe!

If you weren't able to make it to this one, our next get together is FRIDAY SEPTEMBER, 7TH at the Provo City Library from 2:00-2:30 for story time!
See you then!

Switch it up!

Looking for some GREAT activities for your child? I have 'em!

Sometimes you may want to supplement what your child is learning with games or extra activities to reinforce what they are learning and give them a chance to practice. Other times you may want to just SWITCH IT UP! Which I recommend. Introducing new activities like a new website or game, will really help your child stay motivated and interested in what he or she is learning. Teachers in the classroom do this too, and students love it!

Check out my UEN page (click here) for links to different sites sorted by subject area for TONS of games and activity ideas. I've tried to make this a "one stop shop" kind of place where you can find what you're looking for!

If you want more ideas for a specific subject area or don't see what you need, just let me know and I'm SURE I can find something for you. :-)

Happy 1st Day!

Happy first day of school!

Most of you should have your materials to begin your classes today. If not, make sure you ask your parent to check his or her email for a "contingency plan" outline that will tell you what you can do on eSchool until you get your materials.

I love that eSchool is so flexible and can be tailored to exactly what you need.

Good luck today! Please let me know if there is ANYTHING you need!!!

Welcome!

Welcome back!

I hope you all had a WONDERFUL summer. Mine felt very short! I enjoyed a trip to Florida to visit my family, an adventurous outdoor vacation in Midway and Heber, and plenty of time relaxing!

My name is Mrs. Houlin. I grew up in a tiny town in Florida but have lived here in Utah for the last 5 years. I graduated from BYU, where I met and married my husband of (almost) 4 years. He is currently an assistant manager at UCCU and studying to take the GMAT to go into business school. We have a beautiful little one year-old girl, named Jillian. She is VERY energetic, but we love her!

I enjoy blogging, making crafts, cooking and baking, traveling, and visiting Florida any time I get the chance!

For the last 3 years I've been a teacher at Westridge Elementary, teaching 4th and 2nd grades. I absolutely LOVED my time at Westridge, but I'm very excited to start eSchool!

It is my hope with this blog that we will be able to feel more connected and you and your parents will stay caught up on what is going on in our class. Check it out often! You can also subscribe by email by typing in your email address into the top right corner of the blog.

I look forward to getting to know each of you and helping you to be and feel successful with your eSchool experience!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Houlin
